Okay so today I was trying to reformat my website and stuff and I was looking over my artists statement and I kinda realized that I've really strayed from the original content I was trying to convey as I have begun to dabble in this architectural realm. I still want my work to have that "familiar but unfamiliar" message and thought, but I think I have been moving more into "unfamiliar" territory than intended. It's cool and I don't dislike my in class project, but I think I want to take a step backwards. I think instead of doing a sculpture with not a lot of meaning I'm going to kind of immitate Franz Cline, like how he abstracted his chairs as subjects by zooming in really close and then using both black and white for the negative and positive space. I think That'll be a fun thing to explore- start with the familiar and then slowly cloak it in the unfamiliar. Also, to be honest, I'm just really not in the mood to sculpt.
